I'm dreaming of a jardin potager...

I’ve got to tell you. I am so overwhelmed right now. I want my garden to look like this:

As of yesterday, this is what it looks like:

Now how to do I make the bottom picture look like the top picture without quitting my job and ignoring my whole family?
I’ve got a lot of work ahead of me and A LOT of research! I know nothing about gardening! I’m a CITY GIRL!
There really is so much research to do to ensure your garden is a success. I’m learning all about companion planting and balancing lighting requirements, wet feet, heirloom seeds, chunnels, composting, and on and on and on…
Like I said, completely overwhelming.
One gardening technique that we are using is the “Back To Eden” garden. It is an organic way of farming that utilizes the way nature intended to grow things. Think of how nature grows back so beautifully after a harsh winter. There’s no one throwing compost or fertilizer on the forest floor. So taking a cue from nature is a good way to go for a small garden.
So this City Girl’s adventure is just beginning. At least Country Bloke knows a thing or two about how some of this works…

  1. I really hope your garden comes together as well as the photo, it looks like a lot of work. I would love to see a post on what you have decided to plant and why you chose each.

I just hope the sheep don't mow down the garden..LOL..

I look forward to your future adventures in gardening!

  2. Thanks, City Boy! Country Bloke will be building a fence around it hopefully this weekend, especially since we have growth!
